The Village Clerk is appointed by the Board of Trustees each December. In Waterloo, the Clerk's position is combined with the Village Administrator and Village Treasurer.
The Clerk is responsible for directing and managing activities and operations of the Village Clerk's Office to promote good government and maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the office. The Clerk's Office is the hub of local government, a direct link between the community and their government.
The Clerk serves as an administrative agent for the governing body, ensuring that Village funds, policies and operations are handled according to the Waterloo Municipal Code, state statutes and federal regulations.
The Clerk's Office is open Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday: 8:30 a.m. to Noon. The Office is also open until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays evenings.
